Structural training on Mast Road… part 2

On the evening of Monday, May 26, crews once again gathered at the donated residence on Mast Road in Salisbury Township. This is the second and final week that the company had access to this house. Training with us were members from the Honey Brook Fire Company (Station 33). \
\
As with last week, the house was smoked up using theatrical smoke machine, and crews had the opportunity to search for victims in the simulated smoke. Other firefighters went to the roof and trained on cutting the roof. In the event of a real fire, the roof is cut to permit smoke and hot gases in the structure to escape, making a safer environment for the firefighters inside.\
\
At 8:41PM, Ambulance 4-9 left the training exercise and responded to a medical emergency on Springhead Road in Salisbury Township. Soon after that, the evening’s exercises were wrapped up, equipment was returned to the proper apparatus, and both companies returned to their respective stations.\
