Medical emergency with flyout on Buchland Road

At 6:37AM on Saturday, December 5, Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9 were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Buchland Road in Salisbury Township for a pediatric medical emergency. After assessing the patient, crews concluded that the patient needed to be flown to a pediatric trauma center.\

Aeromedical helicopter SkyCare1 was requested to the scene, along with Engine 4-9-1 and Squad 4-9 to establish the landing zone in an adjacent hayfield.\

The fire units established the landing zone, and SkyCare1 landed, and transported the patient to a pediatric trauma center.\
\
The fire units and Medic 9 cleared the scene and returned to their respective stations at 7:30AM, while Ambulance 4-9 responded to another medical emergency on Mount Zion Road.
