At 2:30 PM on Monday, November 10, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched to assist the Blue Ball Fire Company (Station 3-2) on setting up a landing zone for aeromedical helicopter SkyCare1 at a vehicle accident with entrapment on Ranck Road just south of Reservoir Road in East Earl Township.\

A sedan had collided head on with a combine, resulting in the driver of the sedan being heavily entrapped in the vehicle. Once freed, the driver was flown to a local trauma center for treatment of thier injuries. Unfortunately, the driver would succumb to his injuries.\

Other companies operating at the scene included Blue Ball, New Holland, and Goodville Fire Companies, New Holland EMS, and Ephrata Community Hospital ALS, and the East Earl Township Police.\

Engine 4-9-1 cleared the scene at 3:15 PM.\
