At 3PM on Tuesday, May 20, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched along with units from Station 4-4 (Intercourse FC), Rescue 4-2 (Gap) and Medic 9 (Ephrata Hospital) to the 4100 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Leacock Township for a vehicle accident with entrapment. \

Chief 4-4 (Diener) arrived and found a jack-knifed tractor-trailer vs. a car and confirmed two trapped in the car, and one trapped in the truck. Command 4-4 requested a 2nd Rescue to assist with the extrication. Rescue 3-9 (New Holland) was then dispatched. Also dispatched were additional EMS units from New Holland (Ambulance 3-9-1), Gordonville (Ambulance 4-3-2) and Lancaster EMS (Medic 6-12-1). Aeromedical Helicopter Medevac 8 (Hanneman Hospital) was also requested but was unable to respond due to the rain storm that was in the area.\

Ambulance 4-9 transported their patient to a local hospital, and returned to station shortly before 5PM.\
