On Saturday, May 26th, Ambulance 4-9 participated in the Westwood Fire Company Station 44’s 60th Anniversary Parade and Triple Housing in Chester County. \
\
The Westwood Fire Company was celebrating thier 60th anniversary (chartered on May 20, 1947) and having a housing ceremony for Ambulance 44, a 2003 Ford/Braun Ambulance; Traffic 44, a 2007 Ford/ Reading Traffic Control Unit; and Rescue 44, a 2006 Pierce Dash Rescue/Pumper.\
\
The day started out with the crew arriving at the Airport Industrial Park in Sadsburyville to have themselves and the ambulance judged by the Delaware Valley Judges. Once the parade commenced, it proceeded east on Lincoln Highway, south on Strode Avenue in Coatesville, and west on Valley Avenue to the Westwood Firehouse.\
\
The judges had a reviewing stand set up on Lincoln Highway in front of Rainbow Elementary School to judge units as they passed by in the parade.\
\
Unfortunately, the competition was tough, and Ambulance 4-9 did not bring home a trophy, but a good time was still had by the members that were in attendance.\
\
Also honored in the ceremonies at Station 44 was Mr. Ronald P. Scott, a past fire chief of the Westwood Fire Company and still and active driver. Mr. Scott was honored for his 50 years of service to the Westwood Fire Company.\
\
The Salisbury Township Fire Company #1 congratulates the Westwood Fire Company on their 60th anniversary, and wishes them good luck with their new apparatus. We also congratulate Mr. Scott on his milestone.\
