Busy Evening… 4 calls in 36 minutes

The evening of Monday, January 7th proved to be an unusually busy one for Station 4-9. We were alerted for 3 medical calls and one fire call within a 36 minute span.\

At 5:18 PM, Ambulance 4-9 and Ephrata Hospital Medic 9 were both dispatched to cover Honey Brook Ambulance and Brandywine Medics for a medical emergency at the Hickory House Nursing Home in Honey Brook Township.\

At 5:36 PM, Ambulance 5-2-2 (Christiana) along with Medic 6-12-10 (Lancaster EMS) were dispatched to cover Ambulance 4-9 on a medical call in the 700 block of Dogwood Lane in the Crestwood Estates section of Salisbury Township.\

At 5:47 PM, Ambulance 4-3-1 (Gordonville) was dispatched cover Ambulance 4-9 on a medical call in the 5500 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in White Horse.\

And at 5:54 PM, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched to the 5900 block of Old Philadelphia Pike in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident. Originally dispatched as a Spill Control, Deputy 4-9 (Beyer) arrived on the scene, reporting a three vehicle chain reaction collision at the intersection with Blank Road, and requested one ambulance be dispatched to the scene. Martin’s Corner Fire Company was alerted for one ambulance to assist. Ambulance 34-2 made the response. Upon arrival to the scene , Engine 4-9-1 controlled hazards on all three vehicles, and provided lighting so that the State Police could investigate. Ambulance 34-2 arrived and transported one patient to a local hospital. Engine 4-9-1 cleared the accident scene at 7:17 PM.\
