Pickup Truck overturned on Beaver Dam Road

At 6:04 PM on the rainy evening of Sunday, January 13, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched by Lancaster County 911 to the intersection of Beaver Dam and Churchtown Roads in Salisbury Township for a Vehicle Accident Standby. Responding units were advised by the 911 center of a vehicle overturned in the roadway, with all of the occupants out of the vehicle, and that there were no reported injuries to any of the occupants.\

Safety 4-9 (C. Eno) was the first arriving, confirming the report, placing the accident on Beaver Dam Road just east of Churchtown Road. Engine 4-9-1 arrived on the scene and illuminated the scene and controlled a motor oil leak. Chief 4-9 (R. Gossert) & Deputy 4-9 (J. Beyer) arrived on the scene shortly after Engine 4-9-1; Deputy Beyer established “Command 4-9”. Station 4-9 Fire Police closed Beaver Dam Road and detoured traffic around the scene.\

A trooper from the Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the scene and commenced his investigation. After the investigation was complete, a tractor from a nearby farm was utilized to put the pickup back on all four wheels on the roadbank; at which point the driver drove the pickup off the ditch, and elected to drive the truck home, a short distance away.\

The Station 4-9 units cleared the scene at 6:55 PM.\
