Horse and buggy vs. pickup in Salisbury Heights

At 4:59PM on Tuesday, Station 4-9 Fire Police were dispatched to the intersection of Springville Road (Route 897) and Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340) in the Salisbury Heights section of Salisbury Township for traffic control at a vehicle accident. \

Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched seconds later to check the occupants of the pickup truck and the buggy. Squad 4-9 also responded to assist with traffic control and debris removal. All persons involved refused transport to a hospital. Unfortunately, the horse pulling the buggy was killed in the collision.\

Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the collision.\
\
The final 4-9 units cleared the scene at 5:28PM
