As units were making the response to the house fire, Chief Kurtz was advised by Lancaster County 911 of a second call in the district at the Gap Hess Gas Station on Lincoln Highway, and that they would be dispatching the next due company. This brought the dispatch of Engine 4-9-1 at 4:56. Engine 4-9-1 made the response within seconds. Deputy 4-2 (Wenger) arrived on the scene with a dumpster well involved in flames. Engine 4-9-1 arrived on the scene at 5:02 and deployed the front handline, and quickly extinguished the fire. The dumpster fire was placed under control at 5:06. Chief Kurtz advised Deputy Wenger to have Engine 4-9-1 transfer to Station 4-2 to cover 4-2’s area once Engine 4-9-1 was finished at the Hess. Thank You to the management of the Hess for treating the firefighters to coffee and doughnuts.\
