In the meantime, we have started to install equipment on the truck, and Lancaster County 911 has added Squad 4-9 to the Computer Aided Dispatch system, pending the unit going in service. ***11/15/08 Update***\
After the Squad had the body mounted at Eby’s, it was taken to Quarryville to SMP LLC to have the aluminum on the body polished. Minutes after leaving Quarryville to come home to White Horse, a herd of deer ran out in the road in front of the Squad, and a collision could not be avoided. After stopping to inspect the damage, it was deemed that a trip back home was no longer possible. The Squad was turned around, and driven to the parking lot of the Quarryville Fire Company (Station 5-7). Once there, Null’s Towing from Cochranville was summoned to tow the damaged Squad back to New Holland to be repaired. Once in New Holland, the damage was quickly repaired by Superior Paint & Collision, and the Squad finally made it home for the first time.\

Today’s update includes photos of the damage from the accident, the repair, the lettering, and the Squad being taken for installation of lights, siren, and radios.\
