Springville Road house fire

At 1:09AM on Thursday, April 29, units from White Horse, Gap, Intercourse, and Blue Ball were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Springville Road (Route 897) in the Mount Airy section of Salisbury Township for a dwelling fire.\

Lancaster County Communications reported that the residents woke up with laundry basket on fire and the house was full of smoke, and that everyone was out of the residence. They also reported that there was a smoke alarm sounding in the background, and that a female sounded like she may be having trouble breathing because of smoke.\

Arriving units found that the fire was out, and scaled back the assignment to only Station 4-9. Engine 4-9-1’s crew ventilated the residence of smoke, while Ambulance 4-9 checked out the occupants. \

Chief 4-9 (R. Gossert) had the operations, while Deputy 4-9 (J. Beyer) had the command. The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall was notified of the situation.\

The final units cleared the scene at 2:05AM
