At 5:07PM on Friday, May 21, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched as part of the Level II Mass Casualty Response to assist the Intercourse Fire Company (Station 4-4) on a vehicle accident with entrapment involving multiple patients at the Intersection of New Holland Road and Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340) in Leacock Township.\

Lancaster County Communications reported an EMT was on the scene requesting 6 ambulances and 3 medic units, and also one person trapped. Aeromedical helicopter SkyCare1 was also placed on standby.\

A seventh ambulance and fourth medic were also requested to the scene. Command 4-4 marked extrication complete at 5:26. Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 6-12-8 transported their patient to a local trauma center. \

Ambulance 4-9 cleared the assignment at 6:45PM\

Station 4-9 Fire Police closed westbound Route 340 during the incident, and reopened the roadway at 6:10PM\
