Garage Fire on Hershey Church Road

At 9:07 AM on Saturday, January 31, Station 4-9 along with mutual aid, were dispatched to the 100 block of Hershey Church Road in Salisbury Township for a dwelling fire. Lancaster County 911 was reporting that the caller stated something was burning in an attached garage, possibly related to a wood stove in the garage.\

First arriving units was Tanker 4-4, who reported a working fire, and pulled a handline to keep the flames in check until the arrival of additional units. Captain 4-4 (Ebersol) assumed Command 4-9. Engine 4-9-1 arrived and assisted with supression. Engine 4-4-1 pulled a line into the dwelling to check for extension. Engine 4-9-2 laid a 4″ supply line in the driveway in case additional water would be needed. Additional units staged along the hard road. Tanker 4-3 transferred from the scene to Station 4-9 for standby, while Tankers 3-2 & 5-2-2 transferred from the scene to Station 4-4 for standby.\

The fire, which was accidental in nature, was placed under control at 9:30AM, with the final units clearing the scene at 10:24\
