Engine 4-9-1 wins 1st Place at Wagontown Housing & Dedication

On the wet and cloudy morning of Saturday, September 22, several members traveled to the Wagontown Fire Company (Chester County Station 35) for a celebration of their 60th Anniversary, new fire station dedication, and quadruple housing ceremony.\

We represented our company by taking Engine 4-9-1 to the ceremonies. We were entered in the judging of the Fire and EMS apparatus.\
\
Prior to the commencement of the ceremonies, members had the opportunity to network and socialize with members of other Fire & EMS companies, as well as the public.\
\
At 11AM, the ceremonies were underway in the new fire station’s banquet hall. Speakers included: WCOJ-AM’s Robert Henson, Wagontown Fire Company President David Stein, Wagontown Chapel’s Pastor Tim Crans, U.S. Congressman Jim Gerlach, PA State Senator John Rafferty, PA State Representative Tim Hennessey, Chester County Commissoner Carol Aichele, Chester County Department of Emergency Services Director Ed Atkins, West Caln Township Supervisor Paul Pfitzenmeyer, and PA State Fire Commissioner Ed Mann.\

At 12PM, the ceremonies were moved to the engine bay where there was a ribbon cutting ceremony by Wagontown Fire Chief Jeff Benach and Wagontown President David Stein, and the housing of Utility 35, Brush 35-2, Squad 35, and Boat 35. By this time the clouds had given way to brighter skies. The housing companies were: Parkesburg Station 28, Modena Station 37, East Brandywine Station 49, Martin’s Corner Station 34, Sadsburyville Station 31, Coatesville Stations 41 & 43, Honey Brook Station 33, and Coatesville VA Station 76.\

Prior to the awarding of the trophies, dinner was served by the Wagontown Fire Company.\

Engine 4-9-1 was awarded First Place in its category for “Best Appearing and Equipped Pumper 2000 & up” \
