The following is Assistant Chief Wuertz’s death announcement as read over the Chester County Fire Radio: “It is with deep regret that the Glen Moore Fire Company announces the passing of Assistant Chief Joshua Wuertz at the age of 34. Josh passed away on January 19th at the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania after a long and heroic battle with leukemia. Josh joined the Glen Moore Fire Company in 1989 at the age of 15 and served in various capacities as company treasurer, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, and finally as Assistant Chief. Josh will be remembered for dedicating his life to community service both as a police officer and nearly a life long firefighter. The Glen Moore Fire Company would like to thank all companies for their expressions of sympathy. Funeral arrangements are still in the planning stages and future announcements will be forthcoming.”\
