At 10:54AM on Thursday, September 23, Station 4-9, along with units from Stations 3-9 and 2-9, were dispatched to the 500 block of Springville Road for a hazardous materials incident inside the medical office building.\
\
Lancaster County Communications advised the responding units that a formaldehyde-based chemical was spilled inside the building, and that the building was being evacuated. The HazMat team requested that Manheim Township Fire be paged to respond with additional personnel.\
\
Upon arrival, crews found that most of the spill had already been cleaned up by office staff. Fire and HazMat crews then monitored air levels, ventilated the building, and cleaned up the remainder of the spill.\
