Car strikes utility pole on Route 340

At 7:17PM on Tuesday, November 24, Station 4-9 Fire & EMS was dispatched to the 5000 block of Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340) in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.\

Responding units were advised by Lancaster County 911 of a single vehicle into a pole, with the driver walking around. Units arrived and confirmed the report, and requested PPL Elecrtic to the scene to repair the damaged pole, which was cracked halfway up the pole, and also had a damaged crosspiece at the top.\
\
Ambulance 4-9 transported the driver to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. Engine 4-9-1 arrived and controlled scene hazards.\
\
Blanks Towing arrived and removed the vehicle from the scene.\
\
The Pennsylvania State Police is investigating the incident.\
\
The final units cleared the scene at 8:29PM. Squad 4-9 and Station 4-9 Fire Police closed Old Philadelphia Pike between Snake Lane and Hershey Church Road for the duration of the incident.
