At 6:49 PM on Tuesday, June 11, Station 49 was dispatched to assist Honey Brook (33) on a commercial building fire in the 900 block of Churchtown Road in Salisbury Township. Also dispatched was a ladder from Twin Valley (69) and a rescue from Garden Spot (39).
Responding units arrived to find a smoldering fire in a sawdust collection system, and a wagon full of sawdust that was also smoldering.
Using handlines as well as Ladder 69’s master stream, the collection system was flooded. The wagon full of smoldering sawdust was also saturated with handlines.
The fire was placed under control at 7:15, with the companies clearing at 8:22PM.
