At 4:38 PM on Monday, October 20, Ambulance 4-9 was dispatched to assist the Gap Fire Company (Station 4-2) on a vehicle accident with entrapment at the intersection of Amish Road and East Newport Road (Route 772) in the Buyerstown section of Salisbury Township. \

The collision involved a sedan and a truck. The truck driver was not injured. The sedans driver and a passenger were critically injured, while a second passenger succumbed to their injuries at the trauma center. One patient was transported by ground ambulance to a local trauma center, while two others were flown to the same trauma center.\

Fire Companies dispatched to the scene included: Gap, Kinzer, Paradise-Leaman Place, Christiana, and Intercourse. EMS agencies dispatched to the scene included White Horse, Christiana, Gordonville, Ephrata Hospital, Lancaster EMS, SkyCare 1 and Medevac 8.\

Traffic was detoured around the scene for several hours while the Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.\

Sky FlightCare lifts off from the scene of a fatal crash Monday near Route 772 and Amish Road in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County. Two Coatesville area teenagers were involved in the crash, and one died from injuries after being taken to Lancaster General Hospital. The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured, state police said Tuesday.
