Aircraft Crash in White Horse

At 4:36PM on Wednesday, March 21, Station 4-9 Fire & EMS, along with mutual aid, were dispatched to the intersection of Route 340 & 897 in White Horse for an aircraft crash.\

Lancaster County Communications advised the responding of a small plane that has crashed in the field to the rear of Station 4-9. Upon further investigation, the incident was found to be in a field in the 200 block of White Horse Road. Units arrived with an ultralight plane down in the field.\

The plane had lost power at approximately fifty feet in the air and crashed nose first into the ground. Fortunately, the lone occupant was not injured and refused treatment and transport to a hospital. The mutual aid units were cancelled, and after assisting in loading the remains of the plane on to a flatbed truck, Station 4-9 units cleared the scene at 5:38PM\
