At 1:35 PM,on Saturday, March 1st, Ambulance 4-9 & Engine 4-9-1 were dispatched to the intersection of Route 340 and Blank Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.\

Responding units were advised by Lancaster County 911 of a car that struck a pole and crashed in to a fence.\
\
Engine 4-9-1 arrived, confirming the report, advising that the accident was west of the intersection and that the patient may be having a medical emergency and requested the response of Medic 9 from Ephrata Community Hospital be dispatched to the scene. \

Ambulance 4-9 arrived on the scene and began treatment of the driver, and set a rendezvous with Medic 9.\
\
Due to the pole being sheared off at the base, and needing replacement, the electric, telephone, and cable companies were notified of the situation. Blank’s Towing arrived to remove the vehicle, and Engine 4-9-1 cleared the incident at 2:36PM. \
\
After being treated by Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9, the patient declined further treatment; Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 9 cleared at 3:02PM.\
\
Station 4-9 Fire Police closed Route 340 between Blank and Plank Roads for the duration of the incident.\
