White Horse Fire Co. sends two teams to the 44th Annual New Holland Fair Firemen’s Tug-O-War

On the evening of October 1, Station 4-9 was proud to have sent two teams to New Holland to participate in the 44th Annual Firemen’s Tug-O-War at the New Holland Farm Show. This is the first time White Horse sent two teams to participate.\

White Horse #1 was coached by Assistant Chief Petershiem, weighed in at 1950 pounds and had the blue shirts. White Horse #2 was coached by Safety Officer Eno, weighed in at 1810 pounds and had the black shirts.\
\
Hundreds of people lined Franklin Street in New Holland Borough to watch thirteen teams from eleven area fire companies battle. \

The results of the nights pulls:\

WHITE HORSE #1\
First pull against Intercourse Station 4-4 (1940 lbs). Intercourse won in 17.93 seconds\
Second pull against Terre Hill Station 3-12 (1950 lbs). Terre Hill won in 56.07 seconds, and eliminated White Horse #1 from the tournament.\
\
WHITE HORSE #2\
First pull against Farmersville Station 3-5 (1810 lbs). Farmersville won in 31.10 seconds\
Second pull against Bowmansville Station 3-3 (1900 lbs). Bowmansville won in 39.32 seconds and eliminated White Horse #2 from the tournament.\
\
Despite the unfortunate luck of having both teams eliminated on the first night, both teams agreed it was worth the months of practicing against each other and both teams look forward to participating again next year.\
