Equestrian accident with flyout in Glen Oaks

At 7:31PM on Tuesday, June 2, Ambulance 4-9 and Medic 3 were dispatched to the 5700 block of Glen Oaks Drive in the Glen Oaks section of Salisbury Township for an injured person from an equestrian accident.\

Units arrived on the scene and determined the aeromedical transport to the nearest trauma center would be appropriate. Medic 3 then contacted Lancaster County 911 and requested that SkyCare1 be dispatched to the scene.\

At 7:50, Engine 4-9-1 was dispatched to the scene to set up a landing zone on the north side of the horse stables. The Engine arrived on the scene and setup the landing zone for the helicopter. SkyCare1 arrived on the scene, and had patient care transferred to them. SkyCare1 transported the pediatric patient to the closest trauma center for treatment of her injuries.\

Ground units cleared the scene shortly before 8:30 PM.
