At 7:48 AM on Friday, August 22, Engine 4-9-1 notified Lancaster County 911 of a vehicle accident at the intersection of Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340) & White Horse Road (Route 897) in White Horse. Several firefighters work at a nearby business and heard the crash. \

The accident involved a sedan and an overturned SUV. Since the occupant of the SUV still being inside the vehicle, Engine 4-9-1 requested the responses of EMS. Due to Ambulance 4-9 already being out of service with mechanical issues prior to the accident, New Holland Ambulance 3-9-1 and Ephrata Hospital Medic 9 were dispatched to assist.\

EMT’s from Station 4-9 attended to the drivers of both vehicles until the assisting EMS units arrived on the scene. Fortunately, both drivers were not injured and refused transport to a hospital. Ambulance 3-9-1 and Medic 9 both cleared the scene and returned to their respective stations.\
\
A trooper from the Pennsylvania State Police arrived on the scene and investigated the incident.\
\
Blank’s Towing arrived and righted the SUV, and removed it from the scene.\
\
Station 4-9 Fire Police closed White Horse Road between Buena Vista Road and Old Philadelphia Pike for the duration of the incident.\
\
The 4-9 units cleared the scene at 8:58 AM.\
\
