At 3:59PM on Monday, August 19, the Gap Fire Company (Station 42), along with mutual aid from White Horse, Intercourse, Kinzer, and Garden Spot were dispatched to the 5800 block of Amish Road in Salisbury Township for a Commercial Building Fire.
Lancaster County Communications stated that the caller was reporting an oil pot on fire inside the metal shop. Chief 42 (Wenger) arrived on scene with smoke showing.
Engine 49-1 and Engine 42-2 both arrived and commenced fire attack. Other units arrived soon after and sent manpower to the scene. Fortunatly a quick knock on the fire was achieved , with minimal damage to the building.
The fire was placed under control with Station 49 clearing the scene at 5:01PM.
