Red Hill Road Chimney Fire

At 7:07AM on Saturday, February 23, Station 49, along with Truck 39 (Garden Spot) were dispatched to the 600 block of Red Hill Road in the Red Hill section of Salisbury Township for a chimney fire.\

Units arrived, laddered the home and cleaned the chimney of debris from the top down to the bottom. Fortunately, the fire was contained to the chimney, and did not extend into the residence.\

The fire was placed under control at 7:39AM, with the final units clearing the scene at 8:30AM.\
\
As a side note, it should be noted, in addition, that during this incident, several other members were attending training classes. \
\
Several of the fire officers were attending officers training classes at the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center in East Hempfield. \
\
Also, several members of the EMS division were attending an Advanced Life Support Assist class at Station 49. This class will enable the attendees to better assist the assisting paramedics on emergency calls. \
