Vehicle Accident on Howe’s Corner

At 7:51PM on Tuesday, April 22, Ambulance 4-9 and Engine 4-9-1, along with Christiana Ambulance 5-2-1, and Ephrata Hospital Medics 3 & 9 were dispatched to White Horse Road (Route 897) and Cains Road in the Howe’s Corner section of Salisbury Township for a Vehicle Accident.\

Responding units were advised by Lancaster County 911 of a single vehicle overturned with possibly 2 to 3 people injured. An additional call reported wires down as well. The vehicle had sideswiped a utility pole, flipped over in a farm field, and came to rest back in the roadway.\

Engine 4-9-1 was the first arriving unit, advising one vehicle overturned in the roadway, blocking traffic. Engine 1 assumed command.\

Ambulance 4-9 transported one patient to a local hospital. Two additional people from the vehicle refused transport to a hospital, and signed refusals with Ambulance 5-2-1. Medic 9 was not needed, and was cancelled on scene, while Medic 3 was canceled enroute.\

The final units cleared the scene at 9:02 PM\

The Pennsylvania State police investigated the incident.
