Vehicle Collision at Route 340 and Churchtown Road

At 8:08AM on Sunday, July 11, Station 4-9 was dispatched to the intersection of Route 340 (Old Philadelphia Pike) and Churchtown Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident.\

Units arrived to a two vehicle accident in the intersection, with minor injuries. Additional ambulances from Christiana and Martin’s Corner were dispatched to the scene to assist. Ambulance 4-9 and Ambulance 34-1 each transported one patient to local hospitals for treatment. Ambulance 5-2-1’s patient refused transport to a hospital. Engine 4-9-1’s crew controlled scene hazards and assisted the EMS crews.\

The incident is under investigation by the PA State Police. The final units cleared the scene at 9:14AM.\

Squad 4-9 and Station 4-9 Fire Police closed Route 340 between Route 10 and Blank Road during the incident.\
