Saturday July 10 proved to be a steady Saturday for Station 4-9’s Fire & EMS Volunteers; a training class, two fire calls, three EMS calls, and a standby transfer.\

6:45AM – Engine 4-9-2 traveled to the Lancaster County Public Safety Training Center in East Hempfield Township to participate in a day-long live burn training exercise for several members that were enrolled in an Essentials of Firefighting class.\
\
10:26AM – Squad 4-9 and Station 4-9 Fire Police responded to assist the Intercourse Fire Company (Station 4-4) with closing Old Philadelphia Pike due to an auto accident at Old Philadelphia Pike and New Holland Road in Leacock Township. \
\
12:15PM – Engine 4-9-1 and Squad 4-9 responded to the 5000 block of Old Philadelphia Pike for a vehicle that drove off the roadway into a culvert.\
\
1:04PM – Ambulance 4-9 responded to a medical emergency in Salisbury Township on Springville Road.\
\
3:32PM – Ambulance 4-9 responded to a medical emergency with Lancaster EMS Medic 6 in Christiana Borough on Newport Avenue.\
\
5:27PM – Engine 4-9-2 transferred to Chester County Station 33 (Honey Brook). Station 33 was hosting the last evening of their annual carnival. Engine 4-9-2 was asked to standby and run any emergencies by Chief 33 (Messner). No calls for service were received. Engine 2’s crew spent the evening eating, playing games and socializing. Engine 4-9-2 returned to Station 4-9 at 11:35PM. Station 4-9 Fire Police also assisted Station 33 with parking and security. Thanks to HBFC for the invite and hospitality!\

7:22PM – Ambulance 4-9 responded to a medical emergency in Salisbury Township on Amish Road.\
