Small brush fire on Beaver Dam Road

At 1:24 PM on Thursday, March 13, Station 4-9 was dispatched to the 6100 block of Beaver Dam Road in Salisbury Township for a brush fire.\

Engine 4-9-1 responded in just over a minute with 8 volunteers. Tanker 4-9 soon followed with 2 volunteers. Responding units were advised of a brush fire quickly spreading towards the woods. \

Deputy 4-9 (J. Beyer) arrived on the scene and assumed Command. Engine 4-9-1 arrived on the scene and deployed the rear 500′ handline, and quickly brought the fire under control. Fortunately, the fire was kept only to the dead leaves that covered the ground in a small area. The Tanker arrived and staged, but was not needed. Units cleared the scene at 1:51 PM.\
