At 10:25PM on Sunday, January 12, Station 49 was dispatched to the 600 block of Springville Road in Salisbury Township for a vehicle accident standby.
Lancaster County Communications was advising of two separate accidents at the location.
Units arrived and found a sedan into an embankment, and a pickup into a utility pole, with black ice covering the roadway that made even walking on it tricky. Fortunately, none of the occupants were injured in the accidents.
Engine 49-1 controlled hazards and illuminated the scenes, while Squad 49-1 assisted with traffic control.
PennDOT was requested to the scene to apply antiskid to the roadway.
After the State Police investigated the incidents, the pickup was able to be driven away, however, the sedan required towing.
The final units cleared the scene at 11:55PM |
