Two vehicles strike utility pole on Meadville Road

By Safety Officer Christopher Eno
January 26, 2010

At 7:38 AM on Tuesday, January 26, Station 4-9 was dispatched to the 5800 block of Meadville Road in Salisbury Township to standby at a property damage vehicle accident.

Lancaster County 911 advised the responding units of a vehicle versus a utility pole, with the pole down across the roadway. Deputy 4-2 (Wenger) was in the area and advised of a two vehicle accident involving a downed pole. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and both vehicles were able to leave the scene under thier own power after the accident was investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Station 4-9 cleared the scene at 9:28 AM after the road was barricaded closed by the Salisbury Township Streets Department, due to the phone company having an extended arrival time to the scene.
