At 10:42AM on Wednesday, February 12, Engine 49-1 & Tanker 49 were dispatched to assist Garden Sport Fire Rescue (Station 39) on a dwelling fire in the 1500 block of Briertown Road in the Fetterville section of East Earl Township.

Lancaster County Communications advised the responding units of smoke inside the residence in the area of the chimney. Station 39 units arrived with a working fire, with flames through the roof.

Engine 49-1 arrived and provided manpower to the suppression efforts, while Tanker 49 arrived and staged. Thanks to an aggressive fire attack by Garden Spot, the bulk of the damage was held to the bedroom of fire origin and the ceiling of a second bedroom on the second floor.
